    About Piñatex

Head of Product Development Canet de Mar, Barcelona, Spain ASAP
    Commensurate to experience

Piñatex® is an innovative natural textile made from pineapple leaf fibre. The uniqueness of Piñatex lies in its production from the natural by-product of existing agriculture which would otherwise be discarded or burned – no extra land, water or pesticides are required to produce the leaves that are used to create Piñatex. The creation of Piñatex provides an additional income stream to pineapple farming communities and is produced with high ethical standards to circular economy principles. Piñatex is a versatile, lightweight, and durable material, making it suitable for use across fashion and interior furnishings.

Developed through the research and development by Dr. Carmen Hijosa, Piñatex has been sold in the commercial market since 2016. To date, Piñatex has been adopted by the likes of fashion powerhouses Hugo Boss, H&M and Nike, as well as the core material within the world’s first vegan hotel suite at the Hilton Hotel, London.
