Costa Rica Omina Fashion Summit

San Jose, Costa Rica. 7 – 9 June 2018.

Dr. Carmen Hijosa flew to Costa Rica to attend the Omina Summit, the biggest event in fashion and sustainable lifestyle in Latin America. It is a biennial summit that brings together the top global disruptors to discuss, propose and implement alternative models of business based on environmental and social justice.

Alongside this, it celebrates the traditional artisanal master crafts of Costa Rica, which is why we partnered up with 2 emerging Costa Rican designers, Pamela Hernandez of Cruda Shoes and Andrea Kader who presented their exceptional products that are #MadeFromPiñatex.

During the event, Carmen met with Paul Hawken, environmentalist and author of Drawdown and other big-time players in the industry such as Donna Karan, Oskar Metsavaht, Livia Firth, Lucy Siegle and Cameron Saul. Collectively, they shared their stories and knowledge about how they are currently trying to change the current status quo of the fashion industry by doing their share in educating people on what we can do to help save the environment.
