Meet The Interns – Part of the growing international London based Ananas Anam team 🍍

We are happy to introduce our Interns: Anais from France, Ioana from Romania and Kim Chi from Vietnam. Let’s meet them!

Anais Lorand – France

  • Introduce yourself

Hi there! I am Anaïs and I am an intern in the Sales and Marketing team. I am French and I have been studying economics in London for the past two years. I embrace life to its fullest and I try my best to make the most of every moment! My main motivations in life? Family, friends, yoga and chocolate 😉

  • What does Piñatex mean to you?

Piñatex shows that change is possible and that we can connect people, ecology and economics. It gives a choice to consumers to act now and to help our environment. We have nothing to wait for anymore and alternatives like Piñatex are a concrete solution with low environmental effect and high social responsibility. Ananas Anam is constantly looking for improvement and Piñatex can only become more and more sustainable. I am so grateful I worked within such an inspirational team that share the belief we can make our world a better place.

  • What’s your personal everyday sustainability hack?

Working at Ananas Anam made me understand better what sustainability really means and how we can really help our planet. I however always tried to stick to the idea that we can all act at our own level. For example, I only buy seasonal fruits and vegetables and try to buy labelled products. I re-use my plastic bags and always make lunch boxes. I really believe that from little things big things grow.

Ioana Cotos – Romania

  • Introduce yourself

Hey! I am Ioana and I am originally from Romania, studying Environmental Science in the Netherlands, being in my last year of studies and having decided to move to London to make a change in the fashion industry from within. I love to describe myself as nature and art lover and a sustainability visionary.

  • What does Piñatex®mean to you?

Piñatex is definitely a disruptive innovation, it’s a path to change and an inspiration. Touching the material feels like holding the future in my hands!

  • What’s your personal everyday sustainability hack?

I try to minimise my carbon footprint with small steps: reducing meat consumption, buying less and only when really needed and definitely diminish my single-use plastic consumption. Another thing I am doing daily is listening to inspiring Sustainability podcasts cause there are is an innovation every day in this field and I want to keep on top of this.

Kim Chi Nguyen – Vietnam

  • Introduce yourself

Hi everyone! My name is Kim Chi which means Golden Branch in Vietnamese, a symbol of wealth and good fortune. I have a fashion design and marketing background and I am studying MSc Fashion Marketing in London. I love being active and explore new things. Fashion and Music is my biggest passion.

  • What does Piñatex mean to you?

For me, Piñatex is an inspiration for everyone to start changing their thinking to be more sustainable. The innovation by Ananas Anam has great social and environmental impact. Working at Ananas Anam has made me understand that if you want to make a big change, start with small changes first. Everyone can start to do some small changes together to make the planet more sustainable. Also, it made me be more responsible in my daily habits and even the way I shop.

  • What’s your personal everyday sustainability hack?

I have my own metal water bottle. I use a charcoal stick to filter my water instead of buying still water in plastic bottles from the supermarket. This stick can be used for 6 months and after that, you can shred it into a fertilizer.
