The importance of Be-ing
I seem to come back to this theme regularly, but more so at this time of year, Easter.
What does it mean, Be-ing?
I believe it is connected to be-in-the-moment.
Re-connecting, with ourselves and our surroundings.
Rejoicing in looking with fresh eyes at what is unfolding around us.
The bounty of this time of year – splendorous colours, new life in nature,
bursting out so full of joy and intensity; such energy that it feels like it is jumping out, asking for our attention – look!
Look at me!
I’m alive! I am so full of energy! Do you want to join?
And then there seems to be a pause – a Be-ing moment – an inner space of silence that helps us connect with the ‘other’, the people, the world in a more profound way; not just admiring it as an outsider, but with loving eyes and open hearts. Be-ing in it, feeling it and as such Be-ing at one with all.
Then there is not “I am more”, “I am best”, “I am superior”, it is: I am part of who you are and together we can build on these feelings of respect, belonging, loving.
Such a profound and at the same time ephemeral moment, these being in the Be-ing..
a space where we can feel empathy and profonde love for all things living.
I feel Easter has these qualities; it is a sacred time of renewal and resurrection.
Re-connecting to ourselves, to nature, to others.
How would it be, if we consciously connect to our Be-ing and as we do this, to re-connect to the being of our planet, resplendent at this time of year, full of energy, colours, new birth and palpable love.
Might it become easier from this space, to then re-connect with others – our fellow beings with humbleness and loving spirit?
The act of Be-ing can then become an act of loving, sharing, appreciating and letting go of ourselves as we approach the other, be it nature, or all living beings that inhabit our planet.
Would this be one of the profound messages of Easter?
To All, with love,
